Common knowledge is to apply hand cream whenever you are concerned about dryness,. 
Did you know that this habit can cause marks or even spots on your hands?! 
Using a cream with plenty of oil components under ultraviolet rays can cause spots and aging of the skin. Whenever you go out, apply sunscreen and protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Personally, I'm not fond of applying sunscreen every day, so when I go out, I use Peau nue. 
Peau nue is made with reduced oil components and provides moisturization and UV protection. It's a convenient size to have it in your bag and be able to use it anytime and anywhere. 
However, please note that sunscreen is essential for activities like going to the beach or hiking!
